The Indien - The Indien (2024) [Hi-Res]

The Indien is the project around Rianne Walther. The Indien plays with influences from the past but at its core makes lively pop songs with an alternative slant. Tracks are built around Rianne’s soaring vocals often with stripped back percussion, cinematic layering’s and guitar melodies. “Fundamentally, it’s pop music, though it’s probably leaning toward the alternative side,” Rianne says. “The backbone of our music is usually recorded in a live setting, but a big part of the production takes part in sessions at home. It’s intricate, vibey...but with a DIY feel too.”

"Sleep When I'm With You" is the upcoming single by The Indien, set to be released on August 4th. The song explores the highs and lows of a long-term relationship and reflects the confusion and mixed emotions that come with being deeply in love without being able to explain it. It is the follow-up to the successful single "Be Yours," which was released earlier this year and was recognized as a TopSong on NPO Radio 2 and Oorkonde at Radio Veronica. "Be Yours" remained on the playlists of NPO Radio 2, Veronica, 3FM, Radio 10 and KINK for several weeks. The band has also made regular live appearances on various radio programs and was guest on National TV (RENZE (RTL4)). These singles serve as a preview of The Indien's debut album, which is set to be released in the spring and will be celebrated with a show at Paradiso Tolhuistuin on April 5th, 2024.
