Remastered and remixed in 1998 on the occasion of our 20th anniversary, this little gem brought together no less than Steve Houben, Charles Loos and Maurane. It is now being re-released with a new cover in the IGLOO JAZZ CLASSICS collection.
The original release from 1985 has lost nothing of its originality and freshness. HLM remains one of the nicest musical projects in French-speaking Belgium from the 80s. Amongst other merits, it revealed Maurane as a jazz singer before her career in popular music took off.
The combination of instruments was unique in its genre, the fruit of the fusion of two duos that had been working independently: Loos/Maurane and Loos/Houben (this re-release also contains a bonus track from the latter duo, “Les chevilles de Valéry” from the “Comptines” LP). This “chamber jazz” for three people had the compositions needed to sound just like that. Some have even become melodies that are hummed, low-key Belgian standards: “Enfance” by Houben, “Potion magique” by Loos and “Savapapapa” by Maurane.
