The album was recorded with producer Laurence Currie (Sloan, Wintersleep, Holy Fuck). It's heavy on rustically climactic anthems that begin slow and build to energetic conclusions. A press release notes that the band's goal was to "translate the tumultuous experiences of youth and maturation into a message to which many could relate." What resulted was "a narrative of sorts; forged from the anxiety of growing old, and painted with both melancholy and hopefulness."
