So, 9 years later, Michel Herr is back on the IGLOO label with this project with some of his own recent compositions. It is not by accident that he surrounds himself with four jazz musicians of international format. Known as four first rate soloists, they gather in full complicity with the pianist’s compositions

Pianist and composer Michel Herr has been active on the European jazz scene since the seventies. His trio CD “Intuitions” (IGL073) with Dutch bassist Hein Van de Geyn and American drummer Leroy Lowe, received in 89 a “Sax”, the Belgian Critics Award as best Belgian jazz album of the year.

This new band opens up new dimensions in his music. Creativity, interaction, rich harmonic colours and melodies are combined with energy and swing. A good example of the maturity of European jazz, a unique blend of the subtle lyricism of the European sensitivity with the infectious “drive” of American jazz.
