Bastian Benjamin is a creative force to be reckoned with, a versatile artist who weaves together electronica and breakbeat to create a rich tapestry of sound. Growing up in Deventer, the Netherlands, Bastian was introduced to music at a young age, starting with piano lessons that would lay the foundation for his later work. Under his artist name, Bastian weaves together a musical narrative that is both sophisticated and experimental, drawing inspiration from the likes of Clark, Forest Swords, Lorn, and Massive Attack, as well as from the art of cinematography. Bastian's musical journey started in his teenage years when he began to experiment with different styles and techniques. This experimental mindset has become a hallmark of Bastian's work and is evident in his music, which is characterised by contrasting elements, dirty percussive drums, heavy bass, and organic textures that bring electronic instruments to life. Bastian's music has been praised by the likes of CLASH Magazine, who described it as "finely balanced electronics with a sense of introspection, a drifting composition that carries a weight of emotion. The upcoming offering from Bastian includes an acid-influenced track, Faux Pas, a more IDM approached Elixir and an ever-more sophisticated ambient euphoric composition Yearning amongst others, which showcases the diverse talent and soundscape that the future icon holds. The LP is set for release later this spring, 24th May 2024.
