Live From The Hot Dog Stand is the Jewels' first studio produced album!
This spontaneous album was recorded live off the floor at drummer Dylan Ranney's studio on the hottest day of 2023. Rather than rehearse that morning, we spent the day at the beach, unbeknownst to the heat that would later fall upon us. Arriving sun drenched and a bit dehydrated, it was chef Dylan's masterful dinner of hot dogs (crispy on the outside, piping hot yet moist on the inside) that undoubtedly fueled us to finish the record that day. None of this would have been possible if not for Andrew Judah's idea and follow-through to record us "the next time we're in town".
One year prior, at a festival on Vancouver Island, for some reason we got the entire crowd to start yelling "hot dog!" with us at various times throughout our set.
Thus, "Live From The Hot Dog Stand" is born.
