True dub essentials here, especially when you consider the first four Marley albums, Burning Spear, Pablo, Tubbys, Heptones and crucially Keith Hudson's awesome Pick A Dub were all recorded at Harry J's throughout the early seventies. Jamaican recordings have been muscling into the market of late, primed for the fierce competition with a series of excellent ten inch plates and a stunning collection of rare dubs on Horace Andy's Dub Box. Hugely rare dubs, with no half stepping on quality, from Twinkle Brothers, Roy Richards, Jackie Bernard, John Holt, Joe Morgan, Zeddie Bailey, Monty Morrison and Johnnie Clarke. As so often with reggae of this vintage, its on the so called minor players tracks you see some of the major innovations. The same is all too true here, excellently conceived and executed selection.
