The sonic palette of Utrecht-based songwriter, composer, and producer A. Johanson ranges from intimate folk songs to carefully orchestrated indie, to immersive cinematic soundscapes. With his music, he illustrates the deep connection between nature, storytelling, and his perception of life, drawing inspiration from artists such as Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver, Ben Howard, and Fleet Foxes, as well as composers like Nils Frahm and Ólafur Arnalds. Following his debut album ‘Who Are We Fooling’ released in 2022, he became part of the Popronde selection and toured the entire country. 2024 marks the release of his second album ‘A Soundtrack to a Never-ending Story’, the result of which will be presented at EKKO.
