Whether during her times with The Gathering, as part of the Arjen Lucassen projects Ayreon and The Gentle Storm, under the moniker Agua de Annique or under her own name, you're bound to have absorbed the angelic and sparkling voice of Dutch singer and songwriter Anneke van Giersbergen. Always on the lookout to get inspired by her surroundings and opportunities, her performance on a Dutch TV show of a Henry Purcell aria sparked a slumbering desire for a full theatre tour. In the four gents of the Icelandic band Arstidir she found the like-minded spirits to accompany her, both in stage and on this new album. Their mixture of Indie-Folk with traditional and classical arrangements suited her modern stylings of classical aria's. The stunning result you can experience for yourself with an album about escaping, full of musing on childhood years and a mind full of memories.
