Buddy DeFranco - Lush Life (2002)

This 1977 recording finds the legendary clarinettist Buddy de Franco with Gordie Fleming (accordian), Michel Donato (bass) and Peter Magadini (drums). A veteran of the big bands of Krupa, Barnet, Tommy Dorsey and Boyd Raeburn, Buddy won the DownBeat poll for ten straight years (1945-54). He has made countless albums under his own name and has recorded with everybody from Art Tatum to Oscar Peterson via Art Blakey and Count Basie.
