At the dawn of the 90s, England rediscovered soul and funk jazz, not to mention jazz fusion.... It was the birth of acid jazz. Personalities such as vibraphonist Roy Ayers were re-emerging and being celebrated by young musicians who were also big fans of rap. First signed to Eddie Piller and Gilles Peterson's Acid Jazz Records label, Gagliano's collective will remain one of the most exciting on the scene. We feel that these great British fans of Pharaoh Sanders, Grant Green, Gil-Scott Heron, The Last Poets, and the rap scene of their time also focused on jazz (A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Jungle Brothers...). And the fusion of their passions results in the creation of invigorating and groovy music like never before.
