Rowan Piggott & Joe Danks were introduced in 2021 and bonded over a shared passion for old-time Appalachian music. An initial campsite session turned into living room jams, sharing lifts to sessions and ultimately the creation of a new old-time duo; Old Spot.

Whether exploring the lost roots of old-time music in traditions closer to home, finding cognate tunes across traditions, or introducing new instruments to the stringband sound, it's clear that Old Spot are not afraid to push the boundaries of the music, while remaining true to the old-time idiom.
