Hilltop Howlers - Alright, Alright! (2024) Hi Res

On the excellently received debut album 'Gloria' (2019), the band showcased a more southern rock sound. However, on the upcoming release 'Alright Alright', the band takes a different approach, resulting in a nine-track album that combines rootsy rock 'n roll, 60’s psychedelic rock, and elements of Britpop.

Lead singer Lawrence Mul: “Together with technician/producer Rutger Drenth, we locked ourselves in a studio in the Belgian Ardennes for a week. We approach the recording process very old school: we all stand in the same room, there are hardly any overdubs, and we record the vocals almost immediately. The songs were largely already written, but under the watchful eye of Rutger, we went in search of the right vibe and the right take for each song.”

“Due to some lineup changes, the band's sound has changed compared to ‘Gloria” guitarist/founder Hendrik Jan Lovink adds. “The basis is still rock ‘n roll, of course, but we drew a lot of inspiration from more alternative bands like Howlin’ Rain, Majestic Scene, and Claw Boys Claw. I am convinced that this has helped us truly find our own Hilltop Howlers sound.”
