Décrire un disque, décrire un bout de vie.

J'ai pensé et composé Grand Jardin dans l'immédiateté, les thèmes ont été composés au piano, en chantant, en sifflant.

Ces thèmes devinrent ma musique de film durant une fin de semaine, je mixai les chansons le lundi matin.

Tout fût terminé en un souffle. La bougie s'éteignit. Le disque fût réalisé comme par l'effet d'un charme.

Je m'imaginais sortir du grand jardin devant la maison, je me voyais errant dans les terres fauves, les sous-bois, les prairies, les champs, les marécages, au bord des rivières, et ce jusqu'au bord de l'océan.

Je me reposais l'espace d'une minute, repensais aux fêtes d'anniversaire lorsque j'étais enfant avec un sourire malicieux, je pensais aussi à ce qui me blessait le cœur. Je pensais à l'amour qui ne dure qu'un instant, à ma famille, à mes amis, à l'impermanence de la vie, à mes erreurs, à mes ratés, à mes victoires, tout cela avec un regard des plus doux.

J'imaginais un sambadrome sur l'herbe du jardin, nous dansions tous autant que nous étions, les pieds nus, la pluie arriva, puis cessa,... le soleil réapparut, le ciel devint pourpre, jaune, orange, bleu et rose. Ce fût un jour de fête, une communion.

How to describe an album, how to describe a piece of life?

I thought up and composed Grand Jardin immediately, composing the themes on the piano, singing and whistling.

These themes became my soundtrack during a weekend, and I mixed the songs on Monday morning.

It was all over in a flash. The candle was extinguished. The record was made as if by magic.

I pictured myself leaving the vast garden in front of the house, wandering through the land of earth and sand, the undergrowth, the meadows, the fields, the marshes, the rivers, all the way to the edge of the ocean.

I'd rest for a minute, think back to birthday parties as a child with a mischievous smile, and think of what was hurting my heart. I'd think of love that only lasts for a moment, about my family, my friends, the impermanence of life, my mistakes, my failures, my victories, all with the sweetest look on my face.

I imagined a sambadrome on the grass, all of us dancing barefoot, the rain came, then stopped... the sun reappeared, the sky turned purple, yellow, orange, blue and pink. It was a day of celebration, a communion.
