Tina May - Early May (2003)

Vocalist Tina May is one of the UK's leading jazz singers and this compilation features a selection of material from her first three albums for '33 Jazz' - `Never Let Me Go', `Fun' & `It Ain't Necessarily So' - which are no longer available.

The album, with a mixture of upbeat bebop and gorgeous ballads, clearly demonstrates why Tina has enjoyed such great international success as a jazz vocalist, appearing at major venues in the UK, Europe, USA, the Far East & Australia.

Featured songs include small group versions of `Like A Lover', `Lazy Afternoon' and `Caravan' alongside interpretations of `Chelsea Bridge' and `Solitude' performed with strings. Featured musicians include David Newton, Don Weller, Gerard Presencer and Clark Tracey.
