John Scott Shepherd - Corridors Of The Mind (2024)

An album conceived around the depiction of dreams and the experiences within the mind of the dreamer.
In the mind are many spaces and zones in which imagination and experience reside. For those of us in the human form, we travel not only through reality but through our dreams to realms close and far away.
The inevitable path of life is created through the corridors of the mind.
I have always had an interest in music of all kinds from classical to world music and everything in between.
With my early background in electronics I became fascinated with analog audio frequency signal generators.
These instruments were a starting point and my love for exotic sounds and sound effects. I went on to experiment with arranging those sounds into musical like compositions. This together with visual imagery displayed on large screen oscilloscopes made for an inspiring environment for creativity.
Growing up I have drawn inspiration from 50 and 60s science fiction films and their soundtracks for ideas in composing electronic music including; ambient, space, drone and dark ambient forms.
