Ogenblik - This Used To Be The Sound Of The Future (2024)

This Used To Be The Sound Of The Future is the debut album from Irish musician, Ogenblik. It is a collection of 60's folk-inspired tracks recorded using a variety of methods, such as dictaphone, MiniDisc, and laptop, on a guitar with 'intonation issues'.

This project started out being called 'Sketches for Danú'. Reflective, acoustic pieces with themes of nature. It eventually became This Used To Be The Sound Of The Future... a reference to both the loss of insect biomass, and wildlife in our countryside and the rudimentary, once modern, recording techniques used.
