Carl Schuricht - Bruckner: Symphony No.9 (1955) [2004]

Schuricht himself was so pleased with the concert that he wrote a letter to the Vienna Philharmonic a few days later (the contents of the letter are translated in the commentary). The concert was so wonderful that EMI also planned to record it. This resulted in a masterpiece that would later become the definitive recording.
