Cliff Richard is a rock & roll pioneer, an accidental maker of experimental pop who dominated the pre-Beatles British pop scene in the late '50s and early '60s. During that era, Richard adopted Presley-like dress and hairstyle. In performance he struck a pose of rock attitude, rarely smiling or looking at the audience or camera. This quintessential release includes two of Richard’s finest LPs for Columbia records: his celebrated debut album Cliff (1959), and the soundtrack to his first musical film The Young Ones (1961), beautifully accompanied by his backup band, The Shadows, who were highly influential on a subsequent generation of musicians. Here you will find rock & roll favorites from the beginning of Richard’s career, such as “Move It”, “Too Much”, “Driftin’”, “We Say Yeah”, and “The Young Ones”, as well as great covers of “Ready Teddy”, “Down The Line” and “Be-Bop-A-Lula”, among others.

Both masterpieces have been remastered and packaged together in this very special collector’s edition, which also includes 2 bonus tracks from the same period.
