Ayo is back with "Mami Wata", her 7th album. Named after the Nigerian goddess of the sea. At the center of this new album is water, the main inspiration of the singer who moved to Tahiti 3 years ago. Ayo has drawn new compositions from her surroundings in the middle of the Pacific, ranging from intimate ballads to rhythmic litanies.
"Mami Wata" is a logbook, a testimony to the rebirth of a strong artist. Nothing is left to chance, neither in her lyrics in free verse, nor in her melodies, harmonies and arrangements, which oscillate between genres with precision.
