Gabriel Rios - Playa negra (2024) Hi-Res

Gabriel Ríos announces his return from never having been away with a brand new album. Born in Puerto Rico, Gabriel Ríos settled in Belgium at the age of 17 to study painting in Ghent. He comes into contact with artists such as Jo Bogaert (Technotronic), jazz pianist Jef Neve, Kobe Proesmans (The Colorist Orchestra), multi-instrumentalist/producer Ruben Samama and starts an exciting musical journey. He releases a number of captivating albums ranging from Latin crooner/pop music on Ghostboy to introspective singer-songwriter tracks on This Marauder’s Midnight and rediscovers Latin classics on his 2021 album ‘Flore’.

On his sixth album Playa Negra, Ríos sings exclusively in Spanish and his roots form the themes for the self-written songs. He returns to his initial artistic influences, while managing to renew himself and thus show a side of his personality that is both endearing and generous.
