Tiga & Hudson Mohawke - LMZ:RMX (2024)

Earlier this year, Tiga and Hudson Mohawke released L'Ecstasy, their first album together. This remix collection commissions some of their collaborators to rework tracks from the long player. Quelza turns "In Order 2" into a string-led, atmospheric beatsy arrangement that sounds destined for the big screen. Reznik's version of "Silence of Love" is also musical, but in this instance, it's all about the reflective piano lines and Jesse Boykins' soulful tones set to an understated house groove. Some of the remixes are more dance floor focused: long term Turbo contributors ADJD drop a jacking version of "Duro", replete with gurgling acid bass and rave whistles. Meanwhile, Audion's version of the same track is a more abrasive workout that builds to a cacophony of buzzsaw riffs and dissected percussion.
