The Voice of Love album contains unreleased demo recordings and cuts from rare privately commissioned 12” discs, and is a reflection of the 1980s when pop, punk and funk came together with Factory Records, Sade and The Clash, foreshadowing the development of crossover British songwriting in the next decade. The album shows the hyperactivity of British pop music in those years, where young bands experimented with different sounds, influences from American soul, funk and disco giving them their own identity. The album also celebrates the wide range of styles of the British underground at the time, from lovelorn rock to punk, smooth pop rock and Balearic sounds. Some standout tracks include “In & Out of Love” by OCEAN, “Tell Me (How it Feels)” by 52nd Street and two tracks by Jakatti - “Time Out” and “The Voice”.
