Fruitcake - Room for Surprise (Remastered) (2024) [Hi-Res]

Very distinct vocals, good melodies throughout and although the tracks sound accessible, there's some quirkiness in most of them. You might might rank them under poppy progressive with a difference. The balladlike tracks are the most likeable IMO. I certainly like the keyboard sound, which is very warm and melodic. The guitar tends to be more of a rhythm guitar in the heavier tracks, than anything else. A lot of good tracks, which makes me take the more jittery and unbalanced ones for granted. A pleasant surprise, although I wonder how they hold up after a large number of listens.
