Anna Torge, Kölner Akademie, Michael Alexander Willens - Forgotten Treasures Vol. 11: Mandolin Concertos (2013) CD-Rip

The choice of pieces seems to have been based on how melodic they are. The entire selection is, without exception, superlative. Ok, the mandolin has to be plucked constantly as it is high register and has little sustain and volume. But this then gives a whole new level of interest, excitement and delight at just how wonderful the instrument is and the pieces are. If you like highly melodic baroque classical style music, in a similar style to Vivaldi, then you will love this. It is one of my most valued classical CDs. A forgotten treasure - yes indeed. Highly recommended.
