The project Into the Void unites Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Young Marco (Marco Sterk) with Berlin pop auteur John Moods. This album immerses the listener in Sterk’s hypnotic synthesizer pulses and balmy, new age-inspired soundscapes, accompanied by Moods’ dreamy falsetto. The music evokes nostalgia, blending analog synthesizers, acoustic guitar parts, and psychedelic rhythms, reminiscent of Gaussian Curve projects and Moods’ collaboration with Zennmenn in 2022. Into the Void develops towards a new aesthetic: tracks like The Illusion showcase the influence of David Sylvian’s work, while the final track A New Kind of Love combines Giorgio Moroder’s disco style with a gentle sound.
