Chancha Via Circuito, El Búho - Tenalach (2024)

Chancha Via Circuito and El Búho have released their new EP titled “Tenalach”, which is a mysterious and melancholic journey into atmospheric soundscapes. On this album, the duo explores new territories, creating music similar to a video game soundtrack, with picturesque landscapes and a parallel universe. Compositions include an amalgamation of different elements such as frogs quacking with driving synths, birds soaring over flowing synths, and epic synth lines accompanied by Chancha percussion. Opening track “El Samurai” comes closest to the pair's well-known folk, with the inclusion of cowbells and synthesizer lines reminiscent of animal sounds. The entire EP, while not assigned to a specific genre, reflects the darker side of the music and the constant tension resulting from a changing world and the pull towards a new reality where the connection between humans and nature merge.
