Robert Leiner was one of the real pioneers of the mid-90s ambient techno sound, and his Visions of the Past album from that period remains a benchmark release. While the material on Analog Days was recorded much later, between 2005 and 2015, it retains much of the same aesthetic. The warbling, swirling sound scapes of "Moln" and the evocative pulses on "Sending" would not be out of place on one of Leiner's Apollo releases from that period. In other instances, he pushes the sound towards Detroit techno - audible on "Session 11111" and the title track's understated serene melodies and bubbling grooves. Analog Days also features some curveballs, like the break beat acid of "Echobox", but in the main it is a wonderfully atmospheric release.
