Sven Faller , August Zirner - Mingus (2024) [Hi-Res]

In honor of the centennial of Charles Mingus' birth, August Zirner and Sven Faller present a music and storytelling project in which they collect compositions and tell stories from the life of the legendary jazz musician. Various themes such as art, music, racism, poetry and love are relevant and important in the context of Mingus. August Zirner tries to approach his role model through letters, while Sven Faller, known for his melodic double bass playing style, delves into Mingus' tortured psyche. Zirner is familiar as an actor from his many film and television roles, while Faller has had an impressive career in New York City, where he has performed with many well-known musicians. The album Night Music and the book of the same title helped Faller establish himself as a composer and storyteller. This project is a tribute to Charles Mingus and is still relevant today.
