“Onça Caetana” is the seventeenth studio work by composer, musician, singer and arranger Sivuca, officially released in 1983 by the Copacabana record label, with arrangements by Sivuca himself together with maestro Antônio Adolfo.
Antônio Adolfo also participates with his piano throughout the album, in addition to Cláudio Jorge on guitar, Ivan Machado on bass and Rubinho on drums.
The album was produced between the Forró and Frevo series, released by Sivuca, more precisely between volumes 2 and 3.
The album begins with a very psychedelic feel in the instrumental song “Central do Brasil” by Reinaldo Arias and soon after comes the beautiful song “Conto de Fadas”, one of the album's greatest highlights, a composition by Sivuca in partnership with Paulinho Tapajós and arrangements by maestro Antônio Adolfo, as is also the case in “Em Cara Parte Em Cada Ponte” and the title track “Onça Caetana” by Afonso and Glorinha Gadelha.
Finally, the album ends with the instrumental track “Amigo de Fé” by Claudio Jorge.
One of the best works of the 80s made by Sivuca, which features songs sung and only instrumentals. A well-balanced album with an incredible sound, the band needs no comments.
