(VĪXĪ) explores the interplay between numbers, superstition, and hidden meanings, drawing inspiration from folk traditions and linguistic nuances. The Roman numeral XVII, rearranged as VIXI ("I have lived"), subtly invokes death, yet this record focuses on cycles, contrasts, and the coexistence of opposites. Musically, the album blends Greek and Latin influences with intricate, byzantine-like structures. Stylized melodies and rhythms evolve into chant-like passages, evoking cavernous acoustics and communal singing. The compositions merge diverse musical traditions, aiming to dissolve boundaries between composition and improvisation. Techniques are not mere tools for virtuosity but means to relinquish control, create unpredictability, and invite self-negation in the creative process. This work is ultimately a meditation on form, transformation, and listening.
