The two-time GRAMMY-winning artist Isaiah “Ikey” Owens, from Long Beach, CA, was renowned for his unique keyboard style, contributing to the work of The Mars Volta and Jack White. However, his roots were deeply embedded in the underground and indie music scenes, collaborating with over 90 artists, including Long Beach Dub Allstars, Dave Sitek, El-P, Saul Williams, Mastodon, and many more.

Before his untimely death at the age of 39 from heart failure while touring with Jack White in Mexico, Ikey completed a solo album. The project remained shrouded in mystery for years, with various versions circulating among musicians and friends. After extensive efforts to compile archives of emails and files, the definitive tracklist was finally uncovered. However, unforeseen challenges among the project’s contributors delayed its release for nearly a decade.

Now, on the 10th anniversary of Isaiah “Ikey” Owens’ passing, his self-titled album is set for an official release on November 29th, just two days before what would have been his 50th birthday, on Unit E Records, a label founded by Ikey’s friends.
