Hepcat , Scientist - Scientific Dub Special (2024) [Hi-Res]

Hepcat, founded in 1989 by vocalist Greg Lee and keyboardist Deston Berry, became a key figure in the L.A. ska scene of the '90s. Their unique sound combined '60s Jamaican ska, soul, jazz and R&B. Following their successful debut Out of Nowhere (1993), the band released the landmark album Scientific (1996).

In 2021, Trust Records acquired the BYO Records catalog, including Scientific, and at Greg Lee's request, legendary dub producer Scientist made a dub version of it. The Scientist Meets Hepcat: Scientific Dub Special album and the deluxe edition of Scientific will be released on December 6, 2024. Vinyl of the dub album is limited to 500 copies.

In memory of Greg Lee, who died in 2024, the band shared a remix of Bobby and Joe (Rambo Dub) and a previously lost music video for the original, which was the surprise winner of an MTV music competition in the '90s.
