Carl Baugher - The Extended View (2024)

With music, as with all the arts, it is possible to focus intently on one limited perspective and refine it to an extreme degree. Conversely, it is just as feasible to take a more extended view and attempt to convey ideas, emotions and concepts in a broader, more expansive fashion. With this album, the extended view is meant to implicate as many disparate approaches within my purvey in order to imbue the music with range and texture. The goal, then, is to create a richer sonic vision. These efforts are indicative of my larger goal of developing my musical language into a more malleable carrier of my ideas.
