It unveils the tragic stories of forced family separations, assimilation, and abuse of children, which have deeply impacted the lives of Indigenous peoples. The film premieres on National Geographic on December 9 and will be available on Disney+ and Hulu the following day.

The film's musical score was created by Mali Obomsawin, a composer and multi-instrumentalist from the Abenaki Nation. Her work blends jazz, folk, and elements of modern improvisation, helping to convey the profound emotional experiences of the film’s characters.
