Composer Jonathan Snipes blends traditional orchestration, electronic sequencing, and field recordings to craft an experimental score for Spotify's audio series Batman Unburied. His composition captures Gotham's dark, brooding atmosphere and the narrative's hypnotic hallucinations.

Using cassette tape loops, Snipes evokes a sense of being trapped in the past, accompanied by the hiss and noise of magnetic recordings. The score features cavernous drums, ambient descents, and synth-driven climaxes. It incorporates recordings of bats by scientist Ethan Gilardi, vocals from opera singer Micaela Tobin, wind instruments performed by Max Kaplan and Louis Lopez, and metal-tinged guitar by David Rothbaum, creating a contemporary soundscape for Gotham City.

Known for scoring films like Room 237 and Starry Eyes and shows like House of Ninjas, Snipes is also part of the hip-hop trio Clipping. on Sub Pop.

In Batman Unburied, Gotham is terrorized by a serial killer, but Batman is nowhere to be found. Bruce Wayne has no memory of being Batman, and Barbara Gordon turns to the Riddler, Gotham's second-smartest detective, for help. To save his loved ones, Bruce must escape a hell of his own making and face the mysterious foe who put him there.
