Diana Tobien - Duo Flight (2017)

Singer and pianist Diana Tobien and guitarist Ángel Rubio began their collaboration in the summer of 2014, playing on the Jazz circuits of Ibiza and Madrid. Only two years later, already established as a duo, DIANA TOBIEN & ÁNGEL RUBIO made their recording debut with “Duo Flight", a fresh and colorful work, recorded in only two live studio sessions, and betting on a 100% natural sound, without retouching or overdubs…

His very personal repertoire includes everything from absolute Jazz standards to original compositions, through surprising adaptations of music from various cultures (Turkey, Brazil, Africa, etc.), which benefit from very elaborate arrangements and timbral combinations, almost experimental, that astonish. and they seduce, as much as the refreshing exotic sounds of the Kalimba or the Darbouka and, above all, the duo's singular capacity for improvisation and instant creativity.

A vision of music deeply rooted in the Jazz tradition, open to the world, very varied, enjoyable and full of surprises.
