David Harland - The Escapist (2024)

David Harland is a fingerstyle guitarist and singer/songwriter inspired by artists like Michael Hedges, Nick Drake, David Wilcox, and Billy McLaughlin. Known for his innovative and introspective style, Harland’s music blends heartfelt melodies with expressive acoustic guitar compositions.

Harland's passion for music began at age 5 with a plastic guitar and grew through his teenage years in a Minneapolis rock band. Influenced by acoustic innovators, he shifted focus to the acoustic guitar, crafting introspective, melody-driven music.

In spring 2024, Harland recorded his album The Escapist at The Library studio in Minneapolis, produced by Matt Patrick. The album features meditative guitar compositions designed to provide listeners with peace and escapism, with contributions from Cierra Alise Hill (cello, violin) and Matt Patrick (ambient electric guitar).
