Yair Klartag - Yair Klartag: Incommunicable (2024)

Yair Klartag is a composer from Israel. His music combines a subjective investigation into the semantics of sound with a sensual exploration of sonic phenomena. His pieces often deal with the problematic nature of sounds as signifiers and challenge the authenticity of the musical expression. He has been especially interested in the perception of continuous sound events. The idea that a listener is unable to attend to a prolonged tone, but rather sample it periodically, informed musical structures in which fast regular repetitions mark slow changes in different parameters of sound.
