The Toys Sing “A Lovers Concerto” and “Attack!” is the only album by the girl group The Toys, released in 1966 following the success of their two titular hits. The album’s only cover is “Yesterday,” while the other tracks are original songs written by the group’s producers, Sandy Linzer and Denny Randell.
Barbara Harris performed lead vocals on most tracks due to her commercial voice, but Barbara Parritt and June Montiero also took the lead on “Hallelujah” and “Yesterday,” respectively. Harris and Parritt shared lead vocal duties on “Back Street.”
The album was re-released on CD on November 1, 1994, by Sundazed Records, produced by Bob Irwin. The CD included two bonus tracks, “Baby Toys” and “May My Heart Be Cast into Stone,” which were originally released as singles and intended for a second album that was never completed.
