Marlene de la Pena (born January 4, 1960 as Marlene Peña Lim) is a Jazz singer from Manila City in the Philippines. As an amateur winning several contests she got noticed by talent scouts, and visits Japan as a result. While being a pop idol during the daytime, she starts out as a jazz singer at night.

Soon after, it is announced that a contract was signed with CBS Sony and that her debut album would be recorded with them. After signing with Sony, with her beauty and extraordinary singing ability, she attracted a lot of attention. From this moment on her success was celebrated with dozens of concerts across the country after each album release.

Marine's voice has a rounded tone that is unique to female jazz singers, but to say that Marine is limited to the jazz genre would mean confining her to the genre of pop. She sings pop songs. She is in the foreign genre of non-Japanese pop songs that never become popular songs.
