Sharon "Mhati" Chatam - Fantasy (1973) [Hi-Res]

Originally released in 1973 by RCA, Fantasy is an album written and recorded by Gianfranco Reverberi under the pseudonym Sharon “Mhati” Chatam.

Among the most evocative tracks is “Fire Shadows In The Sunset”, where an obscure piano, dynamic congas, and eerie vocals recall the erotic tones of soundtracks Reverberi composed for Renato Polselli’s films, such as Delirio caldo (1972) and Riti, magie nere e segrete orge nel trecento (1973).

Tracks like “I’ve Got An Idea” and “Closed In A Drugstore” explore an intimate and vibrant funk style, while orchestral and psychedelic pieces such as “Quel Che Non Saprei Dirti Mai A Parole” reveal the album’s more cinematic side. Instrumental covers of popular early '70s hits like Elton John’s “Daniel” and Don McLean’s “Vincent” round out these original compositions.

The collection concludes with a bonus track, a psychedelic reinterpretation of “Ultimo Tango A Parigi,” enriched by layered synthesizers. This piece wasn’t included on the original LP but was previously released solely as a 45 RPM single.
