The Burning Bright Light is a collaborative album by the improvisational trio DROMEDARIES and sci-fi writer/vocalist ALEXOTERIC (Alex Smith), released on January 24, 2025. Recorded in October 2022 at Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Soundworks, the album blends speculative fiction, free jazz, avant-garde textures, and freestyle refrains. The ensemble features Keir Neuringer on saxophone, Shayna Dulberger on double bass, and Julius Masri on drums and electronics, with Smith contributing vocals and texts. The project evokes epic sci-fi soundscapes, rich underground writing, liberatory jazz traditions, and playful avant-garde experimentation.
