Modus - Goodbye Esmond, Hello Kelvin (2025)

Goodbye Esmond, Hello Kelvin is a lockdown-inspired exploration of electronic music, diverging from the techno-centric approach of Moduss previous releases and delving into diverse tastes which have informed his musical background. Whilst the doof comfort blanket doesnt feature, youll still find plenty of nods towards classic Detroit electro, European house, UK IDM, ambient & Japanese electronica. The end result is a melodic expanse of 15 superb tracks, with these influences charting a linear path across the release. Inspiration for the title comes from two Glasgow streets, with half of the album written at each. These surroundings have left a permanent mark on both Modus and the music.
