Aztec Two-Step, formed in 1971 by Rex Fowler and Neal Shulman, is a folk and acoustic soft rock duo known for their enduring presence on the folk festival circuit and their over a dozen albums. They gained early success with their 1972 self-titled debut on Elektra Records, featuring the radio hit *The Persecution and Restoration of Dean Moriarty (On the Road)*. Throughout the 1970s, they released several albums, including *Second Step* (1975) and *Two’s Company* (1976), though the popularity of their folk-rock sound waned by the late decade.
