The Baltic Sisters - VÄRAV / VĀRTI / VARTAI (2025)

The "Baltic Sisters" is an international folk ensemble from Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia, united by their love for Lithuanian polyphonic songs "Sutartinės". The group met by chance at the Womex music fair in 2022 and released their debut album ""Värav/Vārti/Vartai"" ("The Gate"), blending Latvian, Lithuanian, and Estonian folk songs.

The album highlights the shared cultural heritage of the three Baltic nations, rooted in ancient languages and traditional music. The song ""Soka Saule Rītiedama"" tells a tragic story, while ""Sese Sodu"" portrays a symbolic scene of planting an apple orchard.
