Bob Fenton was a truly original jazz pianist and composer, steeped in the tradition of Monk, Coltrane, Miles and other master musicians of that rich era. When he moved to Toronto in the 1970s, he quickly became a fixture on the jazz scene, mentoring numerous musicians through his playing and teaching, including those performing on this album. Spearheaded by Mike McClelland, the quartet presents several of Fenton’s compositions in a celebration of his unique vision.
