What makes some music really good and sets it apart in the flood of various releases? Is it imagination, good melody, text, arrangement or harmony of all, good instrumentalists and singers, a playful band? Those who want to rise above mediocrity must make an effort to do with shades, details, but sometimes this is not enough. For music that will truly touch the listener, reach his heart, it takes something more. This is something that the listener feels even though he is sometimes not aware of it, and especially most often he is not a clear reason - how the artist or composition or orchestra or soloist has achieved it. This is how I feel the music of the Koprivnica band Praline & Fast Food, since their first CD My Favorite Things. Unlike the first CD for which they recorded jazz covers, but also of pop standards, they included exclusively copyright compositions on this one. These are ten songs, including two instrumental, which were created during various periods of performance of these authors. Most of them were written (text and music) by Marin Hraščanec, who also prepared arrangements, on his Darko Ivančan, and some are their joint work. While the aforementioned CD was achieved in a retro jazz style, on the new one they want to completely move away from any genre "ideology", relying on various styles, from jazz, through funk and fusion to pop...
