As the track unfolds, Steve Gunn’s guitar and John Truscinski’s percussion engage in a signature dialogue, though this time in a more experimental, spontaneous setting. The duo set up multiple stations in the studio—guitar, synths, drums, and effects—allowing for free movement and improvisation.

Their soundscapes evoke discovery and wonder, far removed from daily distractions. Tracks like "Fin" capture emotional turbulence, while "Conviction" builds celestial tension before a dramatic shift, mirroring a transformative journey. The album as a whole reflects a process of transition, like hibernation before rebirth, with the closing track "For Ika" signaling a new phase.
