Mesias Maiguashca - Cello in my life (2025)

Buh Records is proud to present the release of Cello in My Life, the new work by renowned Ecuadorian composer Mesías Maiguashca. This deeply personal album is an intimate exploration of the connection between the cello and the artist's life, created in collaboration with the outstanding cellist Gaby Schumacher.

The album features six remarkable compositions spanning Maiguashca’s career from 1972 to 2015. Each piece showcases his innovative approach to music, blending acoustic and electronic elements to create an immersive sonic experience.

This release marks Maiguashca’s second collaboration with Buh Records, following the critically acclaimed collection Música para cinta magnética (+) instrumentos (1967–1989), released in 2021.

Cello in My Life reaffirms Maiguashca’s status as one of the most significant voices in contemporary and experimental music from Latin America. His intricate soundscapes and profound themes promise to captivate both long-time admirers and new listeners alike.
